Minister Kiwanda inaugurates Lions Bay Ranger Post at Queen Elizabeth National Park

New Lions Bay Ranger post to boost security operations for UWA’s security enforcement team within the park’s vicinity.

The State Minister for Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities Hon. Godfrey Kiwanda Ssuubi  on  Friday 12th April  handed over Lions Bar Ranger Post at Queen Elizabeth National Park after inspection together with funders from the Japanese government under CITES Japan.



The bay –  consists upto eight rooms for accommodation and a dormitory for mobile task force so as to enable smooth security operations in the park.

This project was fully implemented by Uganda Conservation Foundation and funded by CITES Japan as a key requirement in enhancing law enforcement strategy for Uganda Wildlife Authority operations within Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Other delegates from Japan and Uganda upon commissioning included; HE Mizumoto Hori, Deputy Ambassador Japanese Mission in Uganda and Mr Sam Mwandha –Executive Director for Uganda Wildlife Authority.
