President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni recently accepted the credentials of seven newly appointed Ambassadors and High Commissioners to Uganda. The accreditation ceremony took place at State House, Entebbe, where the Ambassadors formally presented their credentials.
The distinguished envoys include H.E. Mohamed Khelifi of Algeria, H.E. Simone Knapp of Austria, H.E. Pavel Vziatkin of Belarus, H.E. Mathews Jere of Zambia, H.E. Nayef Hapes Al-Otaibi of Kuwait, H.E. Tareque Muhammad of Bangladesh, and H.E. Andrew Onalenna of Botswana.
During the ceremony, President Museveni extended a warm welcome to the new Ambassadors and affirmed the government’s dedication to collaborating with them to enhance the amicable relationships between their respective countries and Uganda. The Ambassadors reciprocated this commitment, expressing their intention to work with Uganda based on mutual respect and cooperation.
In a notable exchange, the Ambassador of Algeria, H.E. Mohamed Khelifi, informed President Museveni about Algeria’s advanced progress in importing quality milk from Uganda. Additionally, Zambia’s Ambassador, H.E. Mathews Jere, conveyed greetings from President Hakainde Hichilema and pledged to further strengthen the bilateral ties between Zambia and Uganda.
President Museveni shared his anticipation of welcoming the respective Presidents of the represented countries to Uganda, particularly those attending the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) summit scheduled for January next year. The event saw the attendance of key figures, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gen. Abubakar Jeje Odongo, among other dignitaries.
