Sheraton Kampala Hotel treats Seafood lovers to an exquisite culinary dining experience

Sheraton Kampala hotel, last evening reinstated the monthly Seafood and Sushi fine dining experience where seafood devotees will be treated to the best unique and exquisite sea foods from; India, Mombasa, United States of America among other Countries every last Saturday of the month starting 4pm.

The Seafood and Sushi night return event took place at the Seven Seas Restaurant on Thursday evening amidst a colourful fine dining experience that attracted seafood tasters from the different Embassies, Consulates, VIPs and Corporate entities, among others as guests enjoyed from an assortment of mouth-watering culinary seafood starters and Salads of: Octopus salad, mixed olives, Garden salad, sliced tomatoes, perch ceviche, mixed pepper salad, Russian tuna salad, sliced cucumber, salmoke poke, poached shrimps, poached calamari, salmon gravlax, mixed lettuce, shrimp tian, sliced carrots, tuna tataki, potato and onion salad, avocado guacamole, eggs with salmon mousse together with Sushi varieties like; Nigiri, pickle ginger, maki rolls, soy sauce, sashimi, wasabi, urumaki and mango mayo together with seafood bisque soup plus desserts of choice including; a seasonal fruit salad with vanilla ice cream or baked pineapple, royal with lemon sauce before diving into the actual seafood and Sushi hot buffet menu of; Grilled tilapia, grilled salmon steak, seafood pasta, lobster thermidor, pan fried nile perch, grilled prawns, fried rice, grilled snapper, grilled lobster tails, ratatouille vegetables, grilled baby calamari, buttered shrimps, Mediterranean potato with spinach together with chillies; tomato chilli sauce, lemon caper sauce, garlic lemon sauce and pepper shrimp sauce.

According to Mr. Jean – Phillipe Bittencourt, General Manager for Sheraton Kampala hotel, the Seafood and Sushi event returned after a three months revamp of the Seven seas restaurant.

‘’We are very excited today because it’s the grand reopening of the Seven seas restaurant, the famous signature restaurant for seafoods and fine dining in Kampala. We have reached the end of a confinement period; our clients are really excited to come out and have this fantastic experience with our seafood night, with the best seafood coming from Mombasa and many other dishes prepared by our master chefs, a big success for the day recorded so far showing that people are readily waiting for some new proposals, new entertainment, new food experience and we are ready for that as well as very happy to be here today’’.

He added, ‘’The restaurant is now open on daily basis and we will be having some seafoods on our menu – the signature of the seven seas restaurant while the Seafood and Sushi night where we prepare a variety of culinary seafoods will happen every last Saturday of the month. The next edition will take place in October and another in November before we break off for the festive season and resume in January. Today’s event has witnessed more than 120 people which are a good response to the signature event.’’

He further revealed that, the Sheraton Kampala hotel has a boutique of other events guests will always enjoy from such as resumption of the Latin nights for Salsa dance experiences as well as foods from South America as it’s a day to have fun, dance, party as dates for the next months are already on schedule, as well as a Sunday brunch every Sunday, Zivuga band on Fridays, daily live bands from Thursday to Sunday, as well as the Splash family pool day event every Saturday where families can have plenty of fun and attractions as well as BBQ, music, face painting and animation for the kids, as life is now back in Kampala city.

Gloria Namuddu – the Food and Beverage manager at Sheraton Kampala hotel revealed that the seafood has been there although the restaurant had been sealed from the general public for renovation.

She added, ‘’By this grand reopening, we added a buffet of seafoods that has been missing reason we have many guests today, a lot of seafood among others. We import some seafood while others like salmon, tilapia and nile perch are bought here’’.

She revealed that, ‘’the uniqueness and most distinct point with the Sheraton Kampala hotel is that, we are the only onestop centre where you can find seafoods, other hotels only sell salmon, tilapia and nile perch but to us, you’ll get to dive into a range of seafoods on the menu’’.

Guests at the Seafood and Sushi nights will get to enjoy from an array of seafood varieties starting from as low as Shs90, 000, 120,000 and Shs150, 000 per person.

The hotel’s massage, spa, sauna, swimming pool, nature walks in the gardens are all available as well discounted rates on rooms during weekends for Ugandan residents at as low as Shs140, 000 a night inclusive breakfast and taxes plus an assemblage of local meals/buffets to enjoy from the Ugandan and African foods at the hotel especially on Friday while the hotel hosts Zivuga band.
