Surging Covid-19 cases in Uganda, CDC asks Travelers to seek medical consultations before trip to the Pearl

The Centres for Disease Control and prevention (CDC) has cautioned all travelers contemplating taking a trip or visit to Uganda to take precaution as the Country’s Covid-19 cases have climaxed to Level 4 which is considered a complicated level.

According to the Centres for Disease Control and prevention (CDC) Covid-19 updates on their website, the centre warns travelers to avoid travel to the Country as this may catalyse the infection and spread rate as travel may increase risks of further spread. However, the centre also has tasked those that can’t forego travel to Uganda for various reasons that they should get tested to know their Covid-19 statuses and also carry with them their Negative Covid-19 PCR test results as testing lasts approximately 72 hours (Between 1 – 3 days).

CDC further warns travelers not to travel if they are still waiting for test results, test positive, or are sick and are requested to follow all entry requirements to their destinations and provide any required or requested health information.

However during travel, passengers are mandated to wear masks at all times, stay at least 6 feet from people who are not traveling with them, wash hands often or use hand sanitizer, and watch their health for signs of illness.

Those traveling back to the United States are called upon to get tested with a viral test 1–3 days before travel and required to follow all destination and airline recommendations or requirements.

Also after travel, travelers are advised to get tested 3–5 days after travel plus stay home for 7 days after travel.

However, in case a traveler doesn’t get tested, CDC warns they stay at home for 10 days as it’s the most safest way while those that had a known exposure to COVID-19 while traveling should  delay travelquarantine from other people, get tested, and monitor their health.
