Top 10 Events happening in Uganda this Weekend

The weekend beginning Friday 8th  to Sunday 10th March  2019 will be quite busy on Uganda’s social scene with a number of events lined up for the party goers right from music events to sports events.

As always at Guide2Uganda we shall do our best to summarize for you all the events so that you can make up your pick. Here is what’s happening on the Events Calender this Weekend.



 

 

01.  Raggae on the Nile Tour happening in Mbale

This Saturday 9th March, Raggae on the Nile activation tour will be happening in Mbale at Sukali Bistro and hotel.

There will be amazing performances from Mbale’s local artistes as well as Nutty Neithan and Ray Signature.

Music will be mixed by Ras Brown.

Gates open by 8PM, entrance is only UGX10K

 

02.  Women’s Day Poolside Silent Disco at Kampala Sheraton Hotel

This women’s day 8th March, there will be a silent disco at the Sheraton Kampala hotel poolside featuring 10 DJs starting 8pm.

Entrance will be UGX30K, UGX20K for Ladies and the VIP Lounge will go for UGX50K.

 

03.  Nakusiima Siri Muyembe Concert at Fusion Auto Spa, Munyonyo this Friday

Celebrate women’s day in style at Fusion Auto Spa, Munyonyo in a concert dubbed ‘’Nakusiima Siri Muyembe’’. Performances from Remah Namakula, David Lutalo, Chosen Becky and Chris Evans.

Music mixes by DJ Evans 256, Bexxxy A DJ, and DJ Kenny. Events hosts will be Khalas Mase and Izy Da Business.

Showtime is 8PM and entrance is UGX20K Ordinary, UGX50K VIP and tables go for UGX500K.

 

04.  American Jazz maestro Kirk Whalum performing at Kampala Serena hotel

For all the Jazz music fanatics, American award winning Jazz maestro Kirk Whalum will be performing this Thursday March 7th in the Rotary Uganda Charity Concert taking place at the Kampala Serena hotel.

Proceeds from this year’s ‘’Kirk Whalum Live’’ concert are geared towards procurement of equipment at the Rotary Blood Bank in Mengo hospital.

The Kirk Whalum jazz concert will begin at 6pm / 18:00hrs as tickets go for UGX200K and a table UGX5 Million.

 

05.   Maureen Nantume’s Ndimuzadde Concert at Club Obligato

Uganda’s sensation band musician Maureen Nantume will be live in the ‘’Ndi Muzadde Concert’’ at Club Obligato, off bombo road.

There will lots of performances from Uganda’s crème dela crème artistes to feature on the show. Gates will open by 6pm and entrance is only UGX20K Ordinary, UGX50K for VIP, and a table will go for UGX1 Million.

 

06.  The Women’s Getaway taking place at Mestil hotel and Residences

Join Keynote Caroline Mutoko from the 8th-9th March 2019 at Mestil hotel and Residences on a motivational speakers event themed ‘’The Women’s Getaway’’. The event will also host the Nabagereka of Buganda Sylvia Nagginda.

The event begins at 11am. Entrance is UGX500K (2 days dinner & Sessions), UGX300K (1 Day 8th March excl. dinner), UGX260K (8th March plus grand dinner),  and UGX2.5 Million (Grand dinner for a table of 10 people on 8th March).

 

07.  Afriedom Concert at Design Hub

 

 

Catch Afriedom concert and listeners party this Friday 8th March at Design hub, Kampala. Afriedom is a blend of Fire, love and freedom, this concert celebrates the freedom of a Ugandan girl.

Lots of amazing performances starting 8pm. Entrance is only UGX30K.

 

08.  Malkia Season 2 taking place at One ten

Bottoms Up and Okuki Arts bring you season 2 of Malkia this women’s day at One ten, industrial area. This event is aimed at celebrating Queens as Malkia means Queen in Swahili.

Celebrating women on international women’s day implies honouring the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women around the globe.

Catch music, performances and an art installation from Catu (UG), Grackyl (UK), Fya LeBoof (UG), Authentically Plastic (UG), Monrhea (KE), Jumaidi (KE), Lamu (UG) and Makossiri (KE).

Entrance is free for the Queens and Ugx20, 000 for the men.

 

09.  Bubu Expo at Kololo Independence Grounds

The three days build Uganda buy Uganda (BUBU) expo begins today 7th till 9th March 2019 at Kololo Airstrip.

BUBU is entirely a government policy approved by cabinet in 2014 so as to promote the consumption, procurement of goods and services produced locally, improve capacity of local producers to supply government, enhance the quality and competitiveness on the local and international market, create jobs and drive Uganda to attain the middle income status.

This expo will see lots of manufactures exhibiting locally manufactured products everyday starting 9AM.

Entrance is absolutely free.

 

10.   Rally Night at Guvnor this Friday

Catch Rally Night at Guvnor this Friday 9th March 2019. Rally night happens every second Friday of the month. Lots of motor sport fanatics will be in the building.

Showtime is 9pm and entrance is UGX25K
