The weekend beginning Friday 5th to Sunday 7th April 2019 will be quite busy on Uganda’s social scene with a number of events lined up for the party goers right from music events to sports events.
As always at Guide2Uganda we shall do our best to summarize for you all the events so that you can make up your pick. Here is what’s happening on the Events Calender this Weekend.
01. Spice Diana at Club Amnesia for Thursday Campus Night
Self-proclaimed Star Girl, Spice Diana will be premiering her latest music video ‘’Bajikona’’ as she is also set to perform more songs.
Catch Deejay mixes from all Galaxy Fm Deejays; Nimrod, Deeno, Herbert and Switch.
Entrance is free to Campusers with valid IDs
02. Legendary Awilo Longomba performing at Kampala Serena
Congolese – France based 90’s King of Lingala Music will be performing in Kampala live at the Kampala Serena Hotel this Friday April 5th.
Get to groove to all time Lingala classics from the aged maestro himself as he will be singing back to back of all his songs with an entire fully equipped Paris based band, Levixone, Jackie Chandiru among many more Ugandan acts.
Tickets go for UGX100K General; UGX4 Million for table of four and all VIP Tables will cost UGX400K
03. Kabaka’s Birthday Run 2019
The Kabaka’s Birthday run will be taking place this Sunday April 7th, set off point will be Bulange Mengo.
The Kabaka’s Birthday Run is an annual marathon organized by Buganda Government to celebrate the birthday of His Majesty Ronald Muwenda Mutebi. This year, Kabaka turns 64 years young.
Participants are required to pay Shs10K for the Marathon as this comes with a kit. Proceeds from this year’s run will be geared towards supporting different causes of concern like Fistula (2013-16) and Sickle cells (2016-19).
The run has a 21KM, 10KM and 5KM routes taking you around different parts of Kampala giving you a feel of the city amongst which are the Buganda Cultural sites/Monuments like Lubiri Palace, Kabaka’s Lake, Bulange Building, Kasubi Tombs.
You can run or walk with your family, colleagues, friends or even network to make new friends.
04. Cindy performing at Nexus Lounge
The dancehall self-proclaimed King herself, Cindy Sanyu will be performing with her entire band at Nexus Lounge, Najjera in their ‘’Thirsty Thursday’’ night featuring Kampala’s illest turn table maestros; DJ Alberto, Slick Stuart, DJ Hot, DJ Babaz, and celebrated Mush MC will be the host emcee of the night.
05. Dj Nimrod’s Naughty Singles Night +256 Edition
The Dj Nimrod Naughty Singles Night returns this Sunday April 7th at Club Amnesia in a new +256 edition.
Get to party like never before as you show the Ugandan vibe, dance and exhibit one hundred percent Ugandanness.
Showtime will be 8pm as revelers are free to carry their own Muzinga.
06. Funky Friday at Design Hub this Friday
Design Hub, Industrial area brings you the energetic Funky Friday. Usher your weekend in a Special way as you enjoy great vibes, socialize and interact.
The event will be on starting 6pm.
07. NUTIP Talks at Design Hub
NUTIP (Netherlands Uganda Trade and Investment Platform) will be organizing an interactive talk on Human and Resource in Uganda: Balancing human, financial and legal HR requirements with Christine Wanyana from Xclusive Cuttings Uganda and Eugenie Windt Swanair Travel and Safaris Ltd who will share lessons from the agriculture/production industry and the tourism/ service delivery sector respectively.
This discussion will be followed by a networking cocktail starting 05.30pm -07.00pm at Design Hub Kampala.
08. Entebbe Easter Tourism, Art & Craft Expo
The Entebbe Easter Tourism, Art & Craft Expo will start this Friday 5th of April until 22nd of April 2019.
Daily Activities will include art and craft exhibition, cultural entertainment from Buganda, Bunyoro, Ankole, Teso, Busoga, Westnile, Acholi etc, tree planting every evening, bird watching (Entebbe Botanical Gardens, & Mabamba), Entebbe Zoo visits, Boat cruise Lake Victoria site seeing, Evening Boat Cruise to Equator Island, Boat cruise to Ngamba Island Chimpanze Sanctuary.

09. Guvnor Saturday Night Fever
Here’s a proggie for you this Saturday, get to dance in the ultimate Guvnor Saturday night fever as Deejays; Dash, Bryan, VJ Baby Love, and MC Mozeso take you on a night long musical trip.
Dress code is Smart causal, entrance is Shs30, 000 and Showtime is 9pm.
10. Guvnor Oldies Night with Dj Rota
Guvnor Uganda will this Friday 5th April host the Guvnor Oldies night that happens every first Friday of the Month.
Get to groove in the classic way as you reminisce the old good times as the saying goes ‘’Old is Gold’’
