The weekend beginning Friday 25th to Sunday 27th January 2019 will be quite busy on Uganda’s social scene with a number of events lined up for the party goers right from music events to sports events.
As always at Guide2Uganda we shall do our best to summarize for you all the events so that you can make up your pick. Here is what’s happening on the Events Calender this Weekend.
01. Friday Night Live with Lillian Mbabazi and Afrigo Band at Guvnor
Guvnor Uganda will this Friday 25th January, host their monthly ‘’Friday Night Live’’ and this time round, Uganda’s longest Band – Afrigo will be playing alongside vocal sensation Lillian Mbabazi of the Sundowners.
The two musical products will be entertaining you till wee hours as you groove to both their new and old classics.
02. Spice Diana live ”Ndi Mu Love” Concert at Freedom City this Friday
Singer Spice Diana will be live in ‘’Ndi Mu Love Concert’’ at Freedom City on Friday 25th January.
Lots of crème de la crème Ugandan artistes lined up to curtain raise on the concert. Gates open by 6pm as entrance will be UGX10K Ordinary and UGX20K for VIP.
03. Saturday Night Fever at Guvnor
Guvnor Uganda will this weekend Saturday 26th January, host the Saturday Fever at Guvnor Main.
Deejays; Bryan, Dash, Selector J, VJ Baby Love and MC Mozeso will be fixing you with super entertainment whole night as doors open at 9PM.
Entrance is UGX30K and Dress Code is Casual Smart.
04. 2019 Color Fun Run at Uganda Museum
The Color Fun Run is back and will be happening this Saturday January 26th. This will be social event coupled with activities such as Jogging, walk or run and experience a color splash at every kilometre.
There will be amazing Deejay mixes with upto 5 Deejays playing EDM music, live performances, games, bouncing castles, food among many more.
The event will be happening at the Uganda Museum starting 10AM. Early bird tickets go for UGX20K as kids below 10 years will part with UGX10K for early bird tickets while at the gate tickets will cost UGX30K and 100K for VIP.
05. Moses The Great album Listening Party at DNA Lounge
Join the rest of Uganda in celebration of the fallen great Singer and Songwriter, Mowsey Radio at DNA Lounge, Kololo for the Great Album Listening Party.
Music to be played will be all songs done by the Radio and Weasel from way back in the days as well as Singles and Collaborations.
06. David Lutalo live in Nakusiima Concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval
Uganda’s vocal maestro and hit maker David Lutalo will be performing live in ‘’Nakusiima Concert’’ at Lugogo Cricket Oval this Friday 25th January 2019.
Get ready to dance and party to hits nonstop from way back in the days as the singer will be singing back to back all songs.
Lots of Uganda’s crème de la crème lined up to entertain you. Gates open by 5PM.
07. Jinja Mountain Bike Race happening this Sunday
Bike Adventures Uganda will be hosting the Jinja Mountain bike on Sunday 27th January 2019. There will be a 30 Kilometre race through the trails and villages on the banks of the might white River Nile where the first man or woman on the finish line will be the ultimate winner.
This year’s proceeds will go towards supporting the girl students in Busoga so as to improve access to education with bicycles.
The event will feature a BBQ session and prize giving of the mountain bike race and kayak events held during the Nile River Festival 2019.
08. Views and Vibes happening this Friday at the Five horsemen Backpackers
The five horsemen will be hosting their monthly Views and Vibes this Friday 25th January 2019. The night will feature Cheek-O Dread and Since 88/Dark Meme as they will be throwing you back to back deep house sets featuring a live saxophone and guitar session.
Showtime is 9PM and Entrance is UGX5K.
09. Oliver Mtukudzi tribute at screening of NERIA – National Theatre
On Tuesday 29th January, African Movie Night will hold an Oliver Mtukudzi tribute at the screening of NERIA, a movie that he starred and wrote music for.
This movie narrates about a Zimbabwean widow who falls prey to her greedy brother-in-law who takes her children and belongings.
It will be screening at the National Theatre Kampala starting 07:0pm and entrance is only UGX10K.
10. International Education Fair Kampala at Golf Course Hotel
On Monday 28th January, Over 30 Education Institutions from USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia and Europe will be converging for an International Education Fair at the Kampala Golf Course starting 10AM – 6PM.
