01. MoFA issues out new Repatriation exercise Schedule for Ugandans stranded abroad due to the COVID19 Pandemic – On Monday June 23rd 2020, the first batch of Ugandans that had earlier been stranded in other countries due to the Covid-19 pandemic returned back to Uganda from Turkey. This was in a repatriation flight organized by the Ugandan government and respective embassies world over. 02. Surveys show Americans are willing to Pay more for Empty middle seats – A survey conducted by Atmosphere Research has shown that airline passengers are willing to pay more to have an empty middle seat. The July survey compiled the responses of 2,500 participants in the United States. 03. How safe is it to fly on a Plane this year during the Covid-19 Era – Flying at the moment might seem a little bit scary, given the current pandemic. However, it is reassuring to know that at this time, it is still very safe. Between Qatar, Emirates, & Etihad – which Middle East Giant has bounced back the most – Since they burst onto the aviation scene a generation ago, the big Gulf airlines have never shied away from splashing the cash. Glitzy, extravagant, and gaudy, Emirates, Qatar, and Etihad have made their mark on the aviation industry. With fleets of new planes, extensive networks, and frequent schedules, the Gulf airlines have thrown capacity and cash into the aviation market to secure a large slice of it. US REPATRIATION FLIGHTS ON: US Citizens Can Now Fly Back Home Hustle Free this August – The United States of America Embassy in Uganda continues to repatriate American citizens from Uganda to the United States of America and other parts of the world this month of August. US Citizens stranded citizens in Uganda due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus or would wish to fly back home are urged to contact authorized travel agents for flight schedule and booking. Pro Wrestling Legend Kamala, The ‘Ugandan Giant’ succumbs to Coronavirus – The “Ugandan Giant” James Harris alias Kamala, a reknown Pro wrestler that rose to fame during the pro wrestling’s 1980s popularity boom, is the latest to succumb to the novel Corona virus disease at the age of 70.His death followed a short spell having contracted Corona virus from his occasional hospital visits. Qatar Airways continues to reinvent with new Features to its mobile Application to simplify Travel Planning – Qatar Airways has added innovation to its mobile application with significant updates to as to ease travel. The airline’s mobile app is the perfect travel companion for passengers and supports a more contactless journey. The app reinvented in Arabic language, passengers now have the option to plan their travel with greater ease, helping minimize physical contact and interactions throughout their journey. Ethiopian Airlines to Offer Ghana – US Special Commercial FlightEthiopian Airlines has informed the United States Embassy in Accra, Ghana, that it is laying on a special commercial flight from Ghana to Ethiopia. The flight, scheduled for Thursday, August 13, will depart from Kotoka International Airport (ACC) for Addis Ababa Bole International Airport (ADD).
