01. Government to halt repatriation of Ugandans to pave way for decongestion of quarantine centers – The government of Uganda will starting August 25, 2020 halt the repatriation exercise of Ugandans stuck abroad due to the Corona virus lockdown. According to Minister of ICT and National Guidance, Judith Nabakooba the move is intended to pave way for decongestion of quarantine centers with claims that center organisers are getting overwhelmed by the quarantined numbers well as new cases confirmed continue to grow worrying. US REPATRIATION FLIGHTS: Brussels Airlines cancels Flight hours prior to Travel – Brussels Airlines last weekend called off a Repatriation flight from Entebbe International Airport to Brussels as scheduled to fly on Sunday 16th August 2020. The Brussels Airlines’ canceled flight came on short notice just hours prior  to travel whilst most passengers had anticipated to travel between Entebbe International Airport and Brussels Airport where some could have connect flights to parts of the United States of America and the rest of the World. Emirates Airline network increases to 75 with resumption of flights to 25th European city – Emirates Airline will resume passenger flights to Warsaw from 4 September starting with twice-a-week services, and increasing to three-a-week from 7 October. The resumption of flights to Warsaw will expand Emirates’ current network to 75 cities in September, offering travellers in the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific convenient connections via Dubai to the Polish capital. Qatar Airways refunds travelers, pays over USD $1.2 Billion to Customers Since March – Qatar Airways has paid out over USD $1.2 billion in refunds to almost 600,000 passengers since March, demonstrating its commitment to honoring its obligations to passengers who need to change their plans due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on global travel.
