Tourist Destination of the Week: Kibale Forest National Park

Kibale Forest National Park is a one flawless place to experience the natural diversity and flora located in a tropical rainforest.

This park covers an area of more than 760 sq kilo metres containing a vast population of forest elephants found in the Pearl Of Africa though they are rarely sighted.




The forest boasts of a wealth in wildlife species and specifically recorded for its primate population of eleven different species comprising  the red-tailed money, blue monkey, olive baboon, chimpanzee, black, white and red colobus and white cheeked mangabey.

Other mammals found are bushbuck, red and blue duiker, Uganda kob, Scaly-tailed flying squirrel, tree pangolin, buffalo, waterbuck and hippo as well as a large number of birds.

Kibale Forest National Park is Located in western Uganda, 35 kms south of Fort Portal and adjoins with Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Major activities there include; Bird viewing, Game viewing, Camping and Forest Walks.
