The mishap that took place on Monday July 12th as scheduled flight number UR 321 brought about public attention in the East African region as many travelers thought it would be related to a technical issue while others questioned on how the nearly two years old resumed commercial flight passenger Aircraft for the Country would breakout so quick months down after resumption to the airspace.

However, according to an official press statement, the airline quoted the uncommon incident to fuel suppliers that delayed the scheduled flight and apologized it would never happen again as the letter read, ‘’Allow us to apologize for the prolonged delay at Julius Nyerere International Airport, Dar es Salaam that happened yesterday 12th July 2021 on our flight UR 321’’.

The Airline added, ‘’Our service was affected by a mix up in delayed fuel delivery to the Aircraft caused by our supplier in Dar es Salaam. We have taken the matter with them to ensure a repeat of the same does not reoccur in the future’’.

It should be recalled that upon resumption of scheduled commercial flights passengers in August 2019, destination Dar es Salaam – Tanzania was part of the seven regional destinations the airline serves regional commercial passenger flights using the CRJ900 Bombardier Aircraft series as among these include; Nairobi, Mogadishu, Mombasa, Kilimanjaro, Bujumbura Juba, Dar es Salaam and newly added Kinshasha in the Democratic Republic of Congo earlier this year.

In December last year, the Airline took delivery of the A330neo Aircraft fleet to serve the international market on long  haul commercial passenger flights to destinations of ; Johannesburg – South Africa, Heathrow London, Guangzhou in China and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
