The newly acquired aircrafts jetted in from Bombardier’s Mirabel, Québec facility in Canada THIS Tuesday morning minutes after 09:00am EAT.

They were received at Entebbe International Airport at a function presided over by the President of Uganda His Excellency Yoweri Museveni and other government officials.

The aircrafts’ arrival is a kick start in the revival of the Uganda Airlines’ which had earlier been tabled in the parliament.

The revival of Uganda Airlines comes with great anticipation amidst tight criticism though its an achievement of the incumbent government.

Also in attendance were officials from other government sectors and agencies, members of the media, personalities from the Private Sector and members of the public.

The new Uganda Airlines Bombardier CRJ900 aircrafts are expected to commence commercial business in July this year after completing the Air Operator Certification (AOC certification) process which is said to take upto three months.

The purchased aircrafts are the first in the series to have the new cabin enhancements and Uganda Airlines will be the first airline in Africa to operate them.
