Uganda Airlines starts to grow Wings, wins Award for World’s Youngest fleet Aircraft

Just a year and a half since revival into the Aerospace and commercial aviation in the region using the CRJ900 Bombardier series and the World using the newly unveiled A330 – 800 series Aircraft operating commercial passenger flights to the World on long haul routes, Uganda Airlines seems to toast to greater times ahead as it was recognised earlier this week at the CH – Aviation thereby bagging the Award for World’s Youngest Aircraft fleet.

The National flagship carrier with its hub at Entebbe Airport won the Award and this is a milestone especially given its new presence in the skies after almost a decade the Airline had been out of operation, only to bounce – back bold and strong in August 2019.

The CH- Aviation Youngest Aircraft fleet Award distinguishes  airlines from all around the World that keep a young, modern and efficient; and operators using latest generations of aircrafts that contribute significantly to the decrease of Carbon dioxide and greenhouse emissions.

This Award runs every year as it recognizes more than 5,000 airlines and more than 65,000 aircraft in the World to determine which airline presently operates the youngest fleet.

According to a press statement released on Monday 16th March 2021 by Uganda Airlines Management.  The team seemed to be excited with the good news for recognition as the most modern and youngest aircraft fleet in the whole World while it focuses to be a World class Airline.

‘’Our fleet was carefully selected with the passenger in mind. The CRJ900 with the new atmosphere aircraft cabin which gives the passenger a more spacious and comfortable cabin experience thereby offering best in class seats with more legroom, as well as more space in the over – headed stowage bins for carryon baggage.’’ The statement read.

The Airline team also added that, ‘’the cabin ambiance is adjustable using mood lighting to help ensure an enjoyable and pleasant journey from boarding to disembarkation. Similarly, the choice of the A330 – 800neo aircraft for use on its long haul routes took account of the new technologies incorporated in this aircraft which would bring superior operating and service standards to Uganda Airlines’’.

The Airline conclude the statement revealing that, during this period of the Covid – 19 pandemic, the use of the HEPA filters with 99.9% effective filtration of microbes and viruses on both the CRJ900 and the A330-800 neo ensures that these aircraft offer the best cabin environment of any fleet of aircraft in operation today.

Early this Month, Uganda Airlines secured Airport slots at London’s Heathrow Airport upon the arrival of the A330 – 800 neo Aircraft as these slots will become effective March 28th 2021.

Uganda Airlines operates commercial regional and International passenger flights from its hub in Entebbe to destinations such as; Bujumbura, Juba, Burundi, Kigali, Kinshasha, Dar Es Salaam, Mombasa, Nairobi and Kilimanjaro using its CRJ900 Bombardier aircraft series and very soon to start off long haul flights to destinations such as; London, Dubai, Guangzhou and Johannesburg in South Africa using its new A330 – 800 neo Aircraft series.
