Kampala, 10th May, 2017 – Saturday evening went down as one of the most thrilling nights on the Kampala music scene as Tugende Mu Kikadde made its debut at the Serena Hotel.
Guests to the vintage concert were treated to an unforgettable cocktail experience at the well-set Uganda Waragi bar where master mixologists delivered mouth-watering cocktail menus till late.
With doors opening as early as 6pm, it was full house at the Serena Ballroom by 7pm as opening act Kabuye Sembogga took to the stage. Performance after performance, the artistes of the night did not disappoint. The vintage concert brought together acts like Halimah Namakula, Mariam Ndagire, Eddie Yawe and famous favorites, The Afrigo Band all onto one stage. Their performances thrilled the audience as they showed off their talent with their immense public appeal.
Emcee of the night, Andrew Kyamagero, delivered well on his promise to keep the crowd entertained – and that he did. Every time he stepped on stage, his jokes had the entire audience in fits of laughter.
The highlights of the night were Ndagire’s Ansisitira and Afrigo’s Olumbe Lw’Obwavu that had the entire crowd on their feet singing along word for word; and Rachel Magoola’s twerking during her performance of her famous hit, Obangaina.
The concert was well attended with notable faces like General Katumba Wamala, socialite Jack Pemba and celebrated music artistes; Jose Chameleone, Bebe Cool, Irene Ntale and Lydia Jazmine among others.
Tugende Mu Kikadde was indeed a true celebration of Ugandan music.
