The Uganda Marketers Society (UMS), on Thursday unveiled the first ever – Pearl of Africa Customer Excellence Awards (POACEA) slated for 25th January 2022 as voting will be highly done by the public through via a link to be shared online.
The customer excellence awards are all aimed at rewarding and acknowledging companies that have endeavoured to spear head a customer as their business’ first priority through deliberate actions towards progressive customer care, customer experience, and customer prioritization throughout their existence.
This first ever customer rewarding and acknowledgement awards will witness companies showcasing rewarded for their excellence in customer care and customer excellence efforts across industries ranging from Finance, FMCG, Technology, Health, and Media with deliberate focus on MSMEs.
Addressing media during the awards launch ceremony, Sharon Kiggundu – President of Uganda Marketers Society said that, the first ever customer excellence and experience awards will be free and fair so as to achieve free and fair results.
She added,’’ Regardless of what Industry you operate, without a customer you’re bound to choke on losses, but as long as a customer is buying your product or services, you’re making revenue. Therefore, customer excellence is tapped to the bottom-line, reason why UMS is launching the customer excellence awards ’’.
Sharon concluded that, “For a long time, we have heard various perceptions of Ugandan businesses not being able to provide great experiences to customers and clients. With these awards, we want to reward those who are excelling at customer excellence meaning that they are the best at making their customers extremely happy”.
It should be recalled that, on September 17th, Uganda Marketers Society softened the ground with the annual marketers fire place under the theme ‘’Customer experience with a new competitive advantage’’ thus a good customer experience means increased business referrals.

- Best Use of Customer Insights and Feedback

- Customer Excellence Champion of the year
- Customer Experience Team of the year.
- UMS Honorary Award of The Year
