While the world was celebrating the International Mother’s Day, Uganda’s tourism sector was busy jubilating the birth of two new baby Gorillas in Muyambi and Nshongi families.
This is so far a great milestone given that Uganda hosts almost 50 percent of the world’s endangered gorilla species.
According to Uganda Wildlife Authority Spokesperson Mr Bashir Hangi,’’ the two new baby Gorillas were welcomed on Sunday May 10, as these greatly now contribute to part of the population of Gorilla numbers at Bwindi Impenetrable National Forest/Park’’.
‘’Currently, the Country is up for Lockdown though we left a few trackers from the Community to keep visiting the Gorillas so as they maintain the human-gorilla relationship to make them not charge at visitors after the world opens up for Tourism again though there are measures in place to prevent the gorillas from Covid-19’’. He added.
