BOA is one of the commercial banks in Uganda that have been licensed by the Bank of Uganda, the country’s central bank and national banking regulator.
Bank of Africa provides individuals and companies with a whole range of tailored services. The Bank started its operations in 1984 and was bought by Banque Belgolaise and the Netherlands Development Finance Company (FMO) in 1996.
In October 2006, the Bank joined the BANK OF AFRICA Group following the transfer of the Belgolaise shareholding to BANK OF AFRICA – KENYA, Aureos East Africa Fund LLC and Central Holdings Ltd.
The bank is a member of the Bank of Africa Group, a multinational, Pan African bank headquartered in Bamako, Mali, with presence in thirty-one countries. The group also maintains an office in Paris, France.
