This year, Qalaa Holdings Foundation has given out 16 more scholarships to students under their annual Education sponsorship programmes, this milestone makes the foundation’s total scholarships rise to 184 over the 12 years period.
The programme has witnessed success for its sustainable funding model with full full representation for both male and female students.
The 2018-2019 Scholarship recipients will pursue master’s degrees at leading universities in the US, UK, Sweden, Germany, Italy and Spain.
“The task of helping develop Egypt’s youth is a collective responsibility that is of particular importance at this stage in our nation’s history. We are honored to have been able to play a role not just by investing in the postgraduate education of Egypt’s brightest young men and women for the past 12 years, but by also serving as an example of how a private sector entity can help lead positive change,” said Qalaa Holdings Chairman and Founder, Ahmed Heikal.
“It makes us immensely proud to see many graduates return to Egypt having sharpened their critical thinking skills and gained value-added professional qualifications and international connections that have allowed them to become entrepreneurs, pursue positions at the forefront of business, science, and cultural sectors, and propose innovative solutions to challenges facing Egypt today,” added Heikal.
Having started in the year 2007, Founders of Qalaa holdings Ahmed Heikal and Hisham El- Khazindar established the programme to provide Egyptian students with opportunities to further their Education abroad out of a belief that Education is key to success and also enable students upgrade their bachelor’s degrees for the best future times of Egypt.
