This weekend starting Friday 21st- Sunday 23rd Feb will include a beehive of activities ranging from social, religious, corporate and family events. As you choose on how to have a cool time away from the week days’ work this weekend, there will be a number of events out there that you would definitely not afford leaving out in your schedule. 1. Uganda Wildlife Marathon
Topping our events list this weekend is the much anticipated Uganda Wildlife Marathon. The event hosted by Habitat Safaris will take place this Sunday 23rd Feb starting early morning from 7am to 10am at the Uganda Museum. The event is run under the theme “Run to Educate children of fallen rangers.” The marathon will include 5km, 10km, 21km and 42km categories. The chief runner at the event is first deputy speaker Jacob Oulanyah. Individual tickets cost 20,000/= each, Individual student tickets cost 5,000/= each, student teams (50) tickets go for 750,000/= whereas the corporate entity will pay 1,000,000 per group. 2. Cancer Sukuma Dance
This Sunday 23rd Feb, come be part of the Cancer Sukuma Dance. A dance event that is aimed at cancer sensitization and embracing the fight. The Dance and fitness event will be held at KCCA Lugogo grounds starting from 7am to 10am with chief dancers being cancer survivors. 3. Acro Yoga Day Retreat
The Great Outdoors presents to you the first Acro Yoga Day Retreat of the year this Sat. 22nd Feb starting at 9am-4pm. The event will be about exploring the exciting practice of Acro Yoga with Yoga House Latif. Join the retreat with a partner or make a new friend at the retreat to practice with, as we challenge ourselves to find balance and strength as we explore this amazing yoga practice. Besides the yoga in the morning, there will be plenty of free time in the afternoon to enjoy the green grounds of Great Outdoors. 4. Tugende Concert Extra
David Lutalo live in Tugende Concert Extra is on this Sunday Feb 23 starting at 10am till late at Sibyangu Standard Hotel Natete. Tickets to the event go for Ugx 10,000. Come enjoy a night with your star performer David Lutalo along siude other great musicians in the land for a night full of fun, merry making and great melodies hosted by Radio Busujju and Dj Andy Pro Ug.
5. Rumbel In The Jungle: Edition Congolaise
Congo comes to the jungle to rumble! Come be part of the amazing night at Wild Coffee Bar on 7th Street, Kampala this Sat 22nd Feb in a night full of dance, fun and merry making. This edition will have no less than four Congolese DJs. Plus as a bonus: DJ Diaki from Mali, with his “Global Album of the Month” winning tracks. Presented by Hakuna Kulala / Nyege Nyege Tapes. Entrance to the event will be free for all the Rumbe in the Jungle party lovers.
6. The Uganda Corporate League Feb 2020
Corporate League is back. It is bigger and better. Tweny Tweny just got better!!! The first corporate league outing of the year is on this weekend. Happening this Sunday 23rd February at Kyambogo grounds, come represent or cheer on players and workers from your favorite corporate firms. The event will start early morning from 7am till evening 5pm. The day will involve events like football, tag of way and three legged race among others.
7. Fridays Afro-Latin Nights in Uganda
The Friday Afro-Latin Night is here. Come join the SALSA addicts of Uganda at AER lounge in Kololo this Friday in a night filled with pretty amazing dance moves, lots of entertainment and great night life, all packaged in one. The event starts 6pm with free dance workshop to all new learners or beginners, 7pm to 8pm-free dance workshop for the intermediates, 8pm-late is the open dance floor for all dancers and those who would love to watch and listen to the music. Entrance fee to the event is 5000 Ugx. Come in time, there is plenty in the place to enjoy.
8. Grand Opening The Great kitchen _ Launch
This Sat 22nd Feb, the feast is going down at The Great kitchen Bukoto, Kira road. The grand launch and opening of The Great Kitchen food point will see a whole new hope and gratification of Kampala people who wish to catch a bite and quench their thirst while around Bukoto. The
Great Kitchen will serve their best dishes ranging from the delicious buffet and the simple snacks all lined up for you. Come be a part of the new era.
9. Fufa Big League- 2nd Round
And to the football lovers. Are you ready!! The second round of the 2nd biggest Football league in Uganda is commencing this weekend. The Fufa big league will be in action starting this Friday 21st- Sunday 23rd Feb with a number of football games lined up for the soccer lovers. One of the headlined fixture you ought not to miss is the western derby that will see Nyamityobora F.C come against noisy neighbours Kigezi home boys F.C in a game to be played at Rukungiri Stadium in Rukungiri district on Sunday 23rdFeb. The game will kick off at 4pm. Come enjoy a game with Uganda’s purest talents.
10. Ghetto to Ghetto Tour
This Saturday the 22nd Feb, Care for children Uganda Organization will host the Ghetto to Ghetto Tour at Nsambya, Kampala beginning at 12pm to 3pm. The event is meant to show kids from the ghetto how traditional dancing is fused with urban dancing. The Ghetto to Ghetto tour is also aimed at bring back hope to the seemingly hopeless ghetto kids through dance and drama. You could be part of the event and help inspire and bring up a child from the ghetto.
