Close to 180 passengers were then left stuck at the airport as they did not secure any drink during their long wait before the announcement of the cancellation of their flight. News reaching travelers came in two hours of a long wait that got them frustrated and perplexed.

Cause of the delay was attributed to failure of the aircraft wing to function properly after detection by the aircraft maintenance team.

Travelers had to wait upto one and a half hours so as to retrieve their luggage. Brussels airline later on booked them one night at a local hotel, where they were driven by bus at 22:00.

A flight to Belgium was specially chartered on Sunday July 21st at 09:00 to fly the vacationers back to Brussels.

The Airbus A320 OO-SNI returned empty to Brussels on Sunday 21 July as SN9902 (dep. 14:43, arr. 16:42).
