The 30th coronation anniversary holds deep significance for the Kingdom as it not only honors the Kabaka’s exemplary leadership but also celebrates the rich cultural heritage and traditions preserved since the establishment of Buganda Kingdom. Airtel Uganda, a long-standing partner of Buganda, wholeheartedly embraced the event and pledged to actively participate in socio-economic activities championed by the Kingdom, aimed at uplifting the lives of its people.

At the colorful event, the Managing Director of Airtel Uganda, Mr. Manoj Murali, expressed his delight in being part of such a historic celebration. He praised the remarkable leadership of His Majesty the Kabaka of Buganda, acknowledging the essential role the Kingdom plays in preserving and promoting Uganda’s cultural identity.

Over the past decade, Airtel Uganda has collaborated with Buganda Kingdom to initiate various social corporate initiatives aimed at fostering development within the region. As a testament to their commitment to progress, Airtel Uganda officially unveiled its first 5G site at Bulange, Mengo, during the Coronation Anniversary activities. Mr. Manoj Murali further emphasized the company’s dedication to expand the 5G network nationwide, enabling people in Buganda and beyond to embrace the possibilities of a faster, more connected future.

“We pledge to continue supporting the Kingdom as well as innovate products and services like the 5G network so that our people can harness their full potential,” said Mr. Manoj Murali, reflecting the company’s dedication to empowering the local community.

The occasion, unlike the previous year’s restricted celebration due to Covid-19, witnessed an overwhelming turnout of Kabaka’s subjects, who were treated to a spectacular display of cultural performances and traditional activities showcasing the heritage of Buganda Kingdom. The Katikiro of Buganda, Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga, expressed his gratitude to Airtel Uganda for the launch of the 5G network in Mengo, a significant milestone during the Coronation Anniversary celebrations.

The 30th Kabaka Coronation anniversary celebration symbolizes the enduring strength and vitality of Buganda Kingdom, as it continues to embrace modern advancements while staying deeply rooted in its cultural legacy.
