DOADOA is East Africa’s performing Arts Market!

The Fifth Edition of DOADOA is presented by Bayimba Cultural Foundation in Partnership with Mimeta, Hivos, Alliance Francoise, Institute Francoise, French Embassy in Kampala and the Uganda Museum.

DOADOA| 2016 Venues: There are three different venues that are hosting the 5th edition of DOADOA in Kampala. The Uganda National Theatre will again host the opening reception on Wednesday 4th May and the night showcase programme on 6th and 7th May 2016, Cayenne Bar and Restaurant will host the night showcase programme on Thursday 5th May and Big Mikes Club will host the Dj after Parties on the 5th-7th May. The Uganda Museum will host the full day conference programme and the Workshops from the 5th-7th May. All day and night programme venues are open to the public at UGX20,000 for a day pass and UGX50,000 for a full 4 Day pass.

DOADOA is East African Performing Arts Market –a professional networking platform for both regional and international industry stake holders in the performing arts business. 2016 is the fifth edition of the market with a growing number of attendances. This edition is expected to host mor than 2000 delegates, gradually becoming a regional hub and the fastest growing market for every regional industry professional. As a meeting place, DOADAO is a Unique 4 days model in programming that includes artistic showcases, conferences, exhibitions fair, workshops and networking sessions.

DOADOA| 2016 showcase programme: Due to the overwhelming number of showcase applications and the diversity of the performing arts, we thought to add to th programme day time showcase programme, below re the acts, Please note there will be one day time showcase each day, all for 45 Minutes and strictly starts at 1pm.

DOADOA | 2016 DJs Showcase: The DOADOA fringe showcase returns the second time as an extra off the main showcase programme but part of the after party showcase DJ events to take place at Big Mikes Club on Acacia Avenue from 5th-7th May starting 11hrs. The showcasing DJs will be;

DJ Ras Brown (UG), DJ Dropout (UG), DJ Dark Mame (UG), DJ Slagface (UG), SMADJ (TUN), DJ Racheal Kung (UG).

DOADOA | 2016 conference speakers and moderators: DOADOA conference offers insight into the local, regional and international performing arts markets and today’s tools for artist professional development, music creation, production and marketing.

After every day of the Conferences, all day speakers are available for speed Network meetings with participants giving the opportunity to discuss specific topics of interest in 125-minute slots with national, regional and international performing arts pros and experts.
