Kampala, 5th May 2016, Multichoice Uganda welcomed two Vision Group’s largest television properties, Urban TV and TV West to the DStv Family at a press conference held at MultiChoice head office. The two went live on the DStv platform on channel 288 and channel 289, respectively.

The exciting partnership will give Ugandan viewers from all over the country an opportunity to enjoy unique content carried under Urban TV and TV West. Both channels boast fantastic line­- up of quality local and international programming that includes news, current affairs, entertainment and sports in crystal clear digital quality.

Commenting on MultiChoice Africa’s latest additions on their DStv platforms, the General Manager  of MultiChoice Uganda, Mr Charles Hamya said: ‘’Promoting local content is a vital commitment for us as MultiChoice. Our aim is to continually support the growth and development of the African television industry. The inclusion of Urban TV and TV West speaks into our commitment. We firmly believe that the future of digital television in Africa lies in the adoption of latest technology and our company’s willingness to invest in showcasing programming that increasingly resonates to the end consumer.

Robert Kabushenga, CEO Vision Group stated, ‘’This partnership has been in the works for years now. We had the foresight to have our channels on the DStv platforms to ensure we tap into their Geographical reach and subscriber base of DStv subscribers. The possibilities this collaboration presents are immense and this partnership will expose our viewers too our continent in quality HD thanks to DStv’’.

In closing, Mr Hamya thanked Urban TV and TV West for its commitment and enthusiasm and assured Vision Group that the partnership will bear fruit for the company and its viewers. He encouraged Ugandan viewers to purchase DStv to get access to these channels and other fantastic channels offered.

Urban TV and TV West will be available to DStv Premium, Compact Plus, Compact, Family and Access subscribers on DStv channel 288, 289 respectively.
