Last Friday January 11th, Shalom Uburu, the incumbent Miss Uganda North America 2018/19 arrived ahead of the Care Uganda tour.
Upon arrival, she was received by reigning Miss Tourism Uganda Kankwanzi Margaret, Daniel Irunga – Uganda Tourism Board’s senior marketing officer and beauty queens from Miss Tourism West Nile Laura Lebu, Miss Uganda Rising Woman – Karen Nyangan and former Miss Uganda Rising Woman – Iryn Nakitende. Founders for Miss Uganda North America; Julius Kabugu and Tibba Murungi also turned up to welcome the beauty queen into the beautiful Pearl of Africa.
Aburu is the current Ambassador for Ugandans living in North America and her role is to promote Ugandan tourism and culture in her region of stay.
While in Uganda, she will also embark on a tourism, leadership and culture tour as she will in addition take on charity activities through visiting and delivering education related materials to non-profit organisations as she represents the Ugandan community in the Diaspora.
Commenting about her visit, Uganda Tourism Board senior marketing Officer Mr Daniel Irunga said that the cares Uganda tour is a good initiative that was started up by Miss Uganda North America. He further agrees that through the focused initiative, Shalom Aburu will have the experience of what Uganda’s natural beauty is and that will enable her understand the product ‘’Pearl Of Africa’’ as she promotes the country’s tourism on the foreign market.
The Cares Uganda tour under theme ‘’Bwindi – Gorillas and Southwestern traditions commenced on Monday 14th and will end on Thursday 17th January.
She is scheduled to take trips to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, National Park and touring communities around Bwindi as she is reported to wind up the tour at the 2019 ‘’Ladies First Summit for Women in Leadership’’ which will entail a whole of forums, edutainment and speeches on matters like wealth management, entrepreneurship, relationships, wellness and career growth at the Kampala Sheraton Hotel starting 9AM till 7PM on Saturday 19th January.
