01.  Qatar Airways

Qatar Airways ranks one of the most celebrated Airlines that fly to Uganda’s Entebbe International Airport from Hamad International Airport.

Registered in Qatar as Qatar Airways Company Q.C.S.C and operating as Qatar Airways, it’s the national flag carrier for the state of Qatar in the United Arab Emirates. Its one of the youngest international airlines that serve six continents connecting to more than 160 destinations everyday including our very own Entebbe hub.

The airline has a chain of the latest generation aircraft, boasts of unrivaled quality service, has a five star airport (Hamad International Airport) in Doha, Qatar State.

02.  Brussels Airlines

This is the official national carrier for Belgium, the airline is a member of the Lufthansa Group and a Star Alliance member.

Brussels Airlines is for almost 100% owned by the SN Airholding (1,811,308 shares out of 1,811,309 actions). Since December 2016, SN Airholding is 100% owned by Deutsche Lufthansa AG.


The history of Brussels Airlines dates back to 2002 when mother company SN Airholding was created by a group of about 40 investors.

The airline’s fleet include A330 -200, A330 -300, A319, A320 and SSJ100.

Brussels Airlines offers daily flights to and from Entebbe International Airport.

 

03.  Emirates Airlines

Based in the United Arab Emirates – Dubai. Emirates airlines operate a subsidiary for Emirates Group as it’s entirely owned by the government of Dubai’s Investment Corporation of Dubai.

The Emirates story started in 1985 when they launched operations with just two aircraft. Currently, they fly the world’s biggest fleets of Airbus A380s and Boeing 777s, offering customers the comforts of the latest and most efficient wide-body aircraft in the skies.

The airline has a growing network of destinations worldwide, an inflight entertainment system, regionally inspired cuisine amongst all world class service.

Emirates Airline EK730 takes flights daily off Entebbe International Airport starting 4:20pm and arrives Dubai at 10:50pm.

 

04.  KLM Royal Dutch Airlines

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, registered legally as Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij N.V serves as the national flag carrier airline of the Netherlands headquartered in Amstelveen with its hub nearby Amsterdam Airport Schiphol https://www.airport-ams.com/ . KLM is part of the Air France – KLM group and a member of the SkyTeam airline alliance.

KLM Airlines flies to 311 destinations globally including Uganda’s Entebbe International Airport.

The airline was founded in 1919 and currently has a fleet size of 120 Aircraft.

 

05.   Turkish Airlines

This is the official national flag carrier of Turkey with its headquarters in Istanbul, Turkish Airlines has upto four hubs including Istanbul Ataturk Airport, Istanbul Airport, Sabiha Gokcen International Airport and Ankara Esenboga Airport.

The airlines serves upto 304 destinations in Asia, Europe, the America’s and Africa also through our Entebbe International Airport making it also the largest carrier in the world by number of passenger destinations.

 

06.  Kenya Airways

Popularly trading as Kenya Airways though registered in Kenya as Kenya Airways Limited.

Kenya Airways is the national flag carrier for Kenya as founded in 1977 after dissolution of East African Airways and commenced operations on 4th February 1977. Its headquarters are found in Embakasi, Nairobi and its hub is at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

Kenya Airways serves upto 53 international destinations including our very own Entebbe International Airport. The airline is also an alliance member for Sky Team.

 

07.  Ethiopian Airlines

Currently operating as Ethiopian Airlines and formerly Ethiopian Air Lines, Ethiopian airlines is fully owned by the government of Ethiopia as its serves as the national airlines. It was founded on 21st December 1945 and started operations on April 8th 1946 thereby growing into an international airlines in 1951.

The airline currently serves 125 destinations in the continents of Africa, Europe, Asia and the America’s.

Its secondary hubs include; Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, Lome Tokoin Airport and Lilongwe International Airport.

Ethiopian Airlines also connects Uganda to the world via Entebbe International Airport.

 

08.  South African Airways

With headquarters at Airways park on the grounds of O.R Tambo International Airport in Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni, Gauteng. South African Airways serves as the official national carrier airline of South Africa traveling to over 42 destinations across the globe.

Fly SAA was founded in 1934 after Union Airlines was acquired by the South African government; the airline is one of the oldest carriers in the country.

The airline flies to over 42 destinations worldwide, with direct flights to international hubs such Mumbai, Buenos Aires and London. Additional destinations include Europe, China Ctonou, Benin, Abuja, Nigeria, Madagascar, the Republic of Congo, Entebbe – Uganda, Burundi and Cameroon. It also flies to a range of regional destinations in African on a regular basis.

 

09.  RwandAir

This is the official flag carrier airline of Rwanda. RwandAir started flights on April 27th 2003 and currently serves domestic and international services to East Africa, Central Africa, West Africa, Southern Africa, Europe, Middle East and Asia through the main hub at Kigali International Airport based in Kigali Rwanda.

The airline is owned by the government of Rwanda under the motto ‘’Fly the dream of Africa’’

RwandAir serves a total of 23 destinations including Uganda’s Entebbe International Airport with daily direct flights.

 

10.  Air Tanzania

Air Tanzania was founded on March 11th 1977 with its main hub at Julius Nyerere International Airport.

The airline serves as the flag carrier of Tanzania with its base in Dare es Salaam operating as Air Tanzania Company Limited.

It currently operates flights to only 13 destinations including flights to Uganda through Entebbe International Airport.

With the slogan ‘’The Wings of Kilimanjaro’’, Air Tanzania operates six aircrafts including three Bombardier DASH8 Q400, two Airbus  A220-300 and one Boeing 787.

The ongoing Air Tanzania Company Limited fleet and network expansion program include destinations in Africa, Europe, Asia, and US.
