01. Emirates Airline requires Covid-19 compulsory testing for some US Passengers – Recently, Emirates Airline released an updated list of those supposed to take Covid-19 tests before boarding. Among those regions affected are selected states in the US, meaning that as of Friday July 10th, some US citizens have more travel restrictions than others. While the world is keen to open up and welcome back foreign tourism, it’s evident that the process is not as simple as letting everyone in at once. The strategy must be measured with countries and their airlines, all taking different approaches. 02. What to Expect when using a Travel Advisor – Navigating travel in the future is going to take more than online research and a few clicks of the mouse. Just like you would not want to take on a court battle without an experienced attorney or try to diagnose yourself when you are suffering from an illness (a WebMD search can be cause for anxiety!) you shouldn’t plan travel without the assistance of an experienced, professional travel advisor. But, what can you expect, how do they work, and where do you find a good one?

Finding a good travel advisor may be as simple as asking for a referral from a neighbor, family member, or friend, just like you would if you needed a plumber or hair stylist. 03. Tourist Destination of the Week: Kibale Forest National Park – Kibale is the perfect place to experience the true diversity of wildlife and flora found in a tropical rainforest. 04. Heathrow ready to host UK’s first COVID-19 airport testing trial – Heathrow Airport is gearing up to pilot a COVID-19 testing procedure, jointly developed by travel assistance firm Collinson and ground-handling company Swissport. The pilot, the first of its kind in the UK, will mean passengers can be checked for COVID-19 upon landing at Heathrow and know just hours later if they have tested positive for the virus. The ‘Test-on-Arrival’ procedure could provide a solution to those travelling from places that haven’t been included in the list of countries exempt from quarantine, that was published by the UK Government last week. The trial will only work if the Government also adds negative tests during the process to its list of exemptions. 05. Top 10 Hotels in the world – One is from Africa – Travel + Leisure, a New York-based travel magazine published the top 10 hotels in the world at the start of this week. Among the top 10 hotels in the world published features one African exquisite hotel. Travel + Leisure magazine always broadcasts series titled The World’s Best on a yearly basis. 06. Etihad Airways to offer pre-Flight home Coronavirus tests for Passengers – Etihad Airways is collaborating with Mediclinic Middle East to offer its UAE-based travellers Covid-19 PCR testing at their home prior to their travel. Some destinations may require a negative Covid-19 PCR test result before departure and Etihad has advised travellers to check for specific destination requirements. 07. Why Passengers have lost interest in Flying even after relaxing on Lock downs – Passengers are being put off from flying over specific concerns including being in busy airports and sitting next to someone on a plane who might be infected by Covid-19. 08. Qatar Executive to start selling private Jet time to customers – Qatar Executive on Tuesday revealed the launch of its Diamond Agreement. This new and exclusive service allows passengers to pre-purchase flight time at fixed-hourly rates on long-range and ultra-long-range private jets. The Doha-based outfit prides itself on delivering premium services. According to a press release released earlier yesterday, this new program is precisely tailored to individual customer needs and is designed to simplify private jet travel. U.S. Embassy Kampala releases Health Alert and repatriation flights info – In an update published 15th June 2020 on their official website, the US Embassy in Kampala, Uganda released a profile of anticipated repatriation flights to the public concerning foreigners intending to take on international repatriation flights from Entebbe international airport.
