Uganda’s top companies ranking portfolio popularly known as ‘’The Top 100 mid-sized companies survey’’ has launched for 2018.
An initiative by Nation Media Group and KPMG that started in 2009, this year is in the 10th edition with lead Sponsors; DFCU Bank, ICEA group and Uganda Investments Authority and aims to foresee the efforts rendered by Small and Mid-sized Enterprises in fostering development in the Country.
DFCU Bank , Chief Executive Officer, William Ssekabembe during the launch said; ‘’Over the years, SMEs have seen continuous participation in the Top 100 survey and approximately 15 SMEs graduate thus growing their annual revenues for upto UGX25 Billion’’.
‘’Not only growing returns on Investment, SMEs also employ upto 2.5 million people thus contributing 20% of Uganda’s gross domestic product’’ he added.
Over the last 9 years, the survey has helped SMEs get access to new sources of financing, Trained upto 1,500 in areas of; taxation, marketing, stock exchange, financing and insurance, Paved way for SMEs access better financing solution through partnership with other financial institutions
The theme for this year is ‘’Showcasing business excellence for 10 years and beyond’’
