Kampala, Oct 27, 2016- DStv Uganda, the leading Pay TV has committed to Express FC with a sponsorship package worth over UGX 300 million for Uganda Premier league season 2016/2017.
Addressing journalists at a press conference, Phoebe Nakabazzi, Marketing Manager DStv Uganda said, “We have carefully made a choice to commit to Express FC as a main sponsor and are proud to associate with a legendary brand name. DStv believes and seeks to support local content extensively, and Sports is a principal part of our content through our SuperSport brand”.
DStv is the first video entertainment company to take on sponsorship for Express FC since its inception in 1957, and is offering a package of both sports kit and cash.
Express FC has enjoyed a history of successes in the past and it is against this background that DStv has the confidence to boost this spirit, Steven Musoke, MultiChoice Chairman said ”We are pioneers and leaders in the Pay TV industry, hence we understand the power of a pioneer brand like Express FC. Express FC Chairperson Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi, received the sponsorship package on behalf of the team, and thanked DStv Uganda for the in-time support rendered to the club “We do not take lightly your commitment. It serves as a great reminder of our legendary position in the soccer fraternity and we are geared to continue working tirelessly as we seek to climb up the table. We shall not disappoint!”
The Pay TV will work closely with the Club’s management to boost the team spirits by awarding the best player of the month throughout the season. The Club’s fans will also benefit from a quarterly award of a fully connected decoder for the Best morale –boosting fan.
