Kampala, Uganda March 1st, 2016- MultiChoice Uganda, the country’s leading video entertainment service provider has significantly reduced the price of its HD Explora decoder in a price promotion aimed at making it more affordable for Ugandans to enjoy an even higher quality television experience.
A DStv Explora kit (dish and decoder) will now be sold for 389,000 UGX exclusive of installation fee and UGX 277,000 for the Explora decoder alone.
Announcing the new development in a press statement, Albert Nga DStv Uganda’s Acting Marketing Manager said “we launched this promotion because we recognize that the Ugandan pay television industry is evolving. HD flat screen LED televisions are becoming more common place and the consumer has become increasingly expectant of a higher quality viewing experience. Being the market leader we appreciate the importance of responding to consumer demand”.
He continued, “Subscribers who buy a DStv Explora will have a lot more control of their overall viewing experience, in addition to the fantastic pause, record and rewind features available on our standard HD PVR decoders. An Explora decoder can record as much as 180 hours of content, record one show as you watch another, allow you to rent Box office movies, access DStv Catch-Up and other video on demand services as well as pause live TV for up to 2 hours.”
MultiChoice Uganda’s PR & Communications Manager Tina Wamala said “Ugandan society is becoming more fast paced and modern, as a result people are a lot busier yet they still want to be able to watch and keep up with their favorite programming. The DStv Explora offers this possibility of doing so because it allows you to plan your viewing according to your schedule and not the other way around. For example we are now in the middle of the awards season yet many of the shows take place very late at night, the Explora will allow you to record the entire show and watch it later when it’s convenient”.
Talking about some of the content subscribers should look out for in the coming period, Tina assured subscribers that “MultiChoice has some exceptionally high quality programming viewers can look forward to. In addition to the Oscars we will show the Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice awards, fantastic new series and Euro 2016 in France. We have something for everyone across all the five bouquets”.
The DStv Explora price reduction campaign ends on 31st March 2016.
