The Duke, who will be hosted by The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award in Uganda, will make visits to schools and education centres and attend the Award’s Africa regional conference to highlight the vital role non-formal education and learning can play in a young person’s development and to discuss the sustainability of the Award in the Africa region.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award for Uganda is a non-formal education and learning framework that encourages young people to find their purpose, passion, and place in the world. It currently delivers the award to more than 6,000 young people across the country.

In addition, he will also interact with numerous Ugandan youth leaders who are making a positive impact in Uganda in the climate, IT, women empowerment, and entrepreneurship spaces. These interactions will help him gain a better appreciation and understanding of the impact they have on communities. The youth he will interact with are considered game changers and future influencers in Uganda.
