Uganda Airlines announces promotional fares for its soon-to-start flights

Following the reception of an Air Operator certificate (AOC) handed over by the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority to Uganda Airlines recently, all final and needed preparations are in high gear to see the national carrier up in the sky. The achievement, which the airline referred to as “the BIGGEST milestone in operationalizing our commercial flights”, was the long awaited for moment so as to define when the flights were starting.

Gladly, it is now official that starting August 28th, the Aircraft shall fly to a number of designated destinations with in the region as listed below.

Twice daily flights to Nairobi and Juba, three times weekly to Mogadishu, Dar es Salaam and Kilimanjaro once a day, as well as Bujumbura and Mombasa thrice a week.

More so, Uganda Airlines has announced promotional fares to different destinations that will run for two months as follows:

  • Nairobi – $278 for a return ticket
  • Juba – $225 for a return ticket
  • Mogadishu – $590 for a return ticket
  • Dar es Salaam – $286 for a return ticket
  • Bujumbura – $292 for a return ticket
  • Mombasa – $325 for a return ticket
  • Kilimanjaro – $311 for a return ticket

The promotional amounts are inclusive of taxes and there is an option for one to make payment in the domestic Ugandan Shillings.

The scheduled flights will see the Uganda Airlines compete with sister air operating companies that trail and trade in the same cities such as Ethiopian airways, Rwandair and Kenya airlines.

Some of the other Uganda Airlines planned destinations include South Africa, Ethiopia, Rwanda and Khartoum that will later come in with time.

The Uganda Airlines CRJ900 aircraft will operate in dual-class configuration with 64 economy and 12 first class seats, totaling up to 76.
