Uni-Visa to simplify tourism and travel across East Africa

The East African community members are yet to establish one single tourist visa across the region. The minister for tourism Serapio Rukundo urged that Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda and South Sudan countries will have uni-visas although when they are to be issued will be communicated.

This is based on the protocol where the five countries are in talks for the common market  where free movement of goods,  people and services are key priority.

Currently the region is looking forward to creating a common code of conduct for tour operators which involves hotel and professional standards in the fraternity.

Tourist hotel facilities will be classified accordingly where also conservation and sustainable use of wildlife and other tourist attractions is part of the program.

The  East African Tourism and Wildlife Co-ordination Agency will have the power to mobilise resources and coordinate tourism bodies in the region and brand EAC as a strong tourist destination.
