It is estimated that Uganda is one of the largest Robusta coffee producers in East Africa.

Arabica coffee is also grown in the different highland areas of the country most notably on the Mt. Elgon slopes bordering Kenya and on the  Mt. Rwenzori slopes commonly known as ‘’mountains of the moon’’  bordering the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The West Nile areas are also zones where Arabica coffee is grown.

Coffee consumption in Uganda is arguably increasing as people take coffee for different reasons and at different occasions.

Endiro Coffee, one of Kampala’s urban coffee shops has come out to celebrate the coffee milestone with Ugandans from 7AM – 10PM where you buy one cup of coffee and get another for free.

The rest of the celebrations are ongoing around the city where coffee shops have special offers for their guests. Passby any and unleash the celebrations.
